  7.     0. These are the adorations to be performed by aspirants to the A: A:
  8.     1. Let him greet the Sun at dawn, facing East, giving the sign of his
  9.  grade.  And let him say in a loud voice:
  10.     Hail unto Thee who art Ra in Thy rising, even unto Thee who art Ra in Thy
  11.  strength, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Uprising of the
  12.  Sun.
  13.     Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the
  14.  helm.
  15.     Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Night!
  16.     2. Also at Noon, let him greet the Sun, facing South, giving the sign of
  17.  his grade.  And let him say in a loud voice:
  18.     Hail unto Thee who art Ahathoor in Thy triumphing, even unto Thee who art
  19.  Ahathoor in Thy beauty, who travellest over the heavens in thy bark at the
  20.  Mid-course of the Sun.
  21.     Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the
  22.  helm.
  23.     Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Morning!
  24.     3. Also, at Sunset, let him greet the Sun, facing West, giving the sign of
  25.  his grade.  And let him say in a loud voice:
  26.     Hail unto Thee who art Tum in Thy setting, even unto Thee who art Tum in
  27.  Thy joy, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Down-going of the
  28.  Sun.
  29.     Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the
  30.  helm.
  31.     Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Day!
  32.     4. Lastly, at Midnight, let him greet the Sun, facing North, giving the
  33.  sign of his grade, and let him say in a loud voice:
  34.     Hail unto thee who art Khephra in Thy hiding, even unto Thee who art
  35.  Khephra in Thy silence, who travellest over the heavens in Thy bark at the
  36.  Midnight Hour of the Sun.
  37.     Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the
  38.  helm.
  39.     Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Evening.
  40.     5. And after each of these invocations thou shalt give the sign of
  41. silence,
  42.  and afterward thou shalt perform the adoration that is taught thee by thy
  43.  Superior.  And then do thou compose Thyself to holy meditation.
  44.     6. Also it is better if in these adorations thou assume the God-form of
  45.  Whom thou adorest, as if thou didst unite with Him in the adoration of That
  46.  which is beyond Him.
  47.     7. Thus shalt thou ever be mindful of the Great Work which thou hast
  48.  undertaken to perform, and thus shalt thou be strengthened to pursue it unto
  49.  the attainment of the Stone of the Wise, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom and
  50.  Perfect Happiness.

  54.                           THE STAR RUBY.

  56.    Facing East, in the centre, draw deep deep deep thy breath closing thy
  57.  mouth with thy right forefinger prest against thy lower lip.  Then dashing
  58.  down the hand with a great sweep back and out, expelling forcibly thy breath,
  59.  cry AO ANTO KAKOAIMONO.
  60.    With the same forefinger touch thy forehead, and say OI, thy member, and
  61.  say  AE {Note 1}, thy right shoulder, and say IXYPOS, thy left shoulder,
  62.  and say EYXAPITO; then clasp thine hands, locking the fingers, and cry IA.
  63.  Advance  to the East. Imagine strongly a Pentagram, aright, in thy forehead. 
  64.  Drawing  the hands to the eyes, fling it forth, making the sign of Horus and
  65.  roar PION.  Retire thine hand in the sign of Hoor-paar-Kraat.
  66.    Go round to the North and repeat; but say NUIT.
  67.    Go round to the West and repeat; but whisper BABALON.
  68.    Go round to the South and repeat; but bellow HADIT.
  69.    Completing the circle widdershins, retire to the centre and raise thy voice
  70.  in the Paian, with these words I AN, with the signs of N.O.X.
  71.    Extend the arms in the form of a Tau and say low but clear:

  109.     In the centre, let him give the L.V.X. signs; or if he know them, if he
  110.  will and dare do them, and can keep silent about them, the signs of N.O.X.
  111.  being the signs of Puer, Vir, Puella, Mulier.  Omit the sign. I.R.
  112.     Then let him advance to the East and make the Holy Hexagram, saying: Pater
  113.  et Mater unus deus Ararita.
  114.     Let him go round to the South, make the Holy Hexagram and say: Mater et
  115.  Filius unus deus Ararita.
  116.     Let him go round to the North, make the Holy Hexagram and then say: Filia
  117.  et Pater unus deus Ararita.
  118.     Let him then return to the Centre, and so to The Centre of All (making the
  119.  Rosy Cross as he may know how) saying Ararita Ararita Ararita
  120.  (In this the Signs shall be those of Set Triumphant and of Baphomet.  Also
  121.  shall Set appear in the Circle.  Let him drink of the Sacrament and let him
  122.  communicate the same.)  Then let him say:  Omnia in Duos: Duo in Unum: Unus

  134.  The Magician, his breast bare, stands before an altar on which are his Burin,
  135.  Bell, Thurible, and two of the Cakes of Light.  In the Sign of the Enterer he
  136.  reaches West across the Altar, and cries:

  138.     Hail Ra, that goest in thy bark
  139.     Into the caverns of the Dark!

  141.  He gives the sign of Silence, and takes the Bell, and Fire, in his hands.

  143.     East of the Altar see me stand
  144.     With light and musick in my hand!
